Reasons for neck pain

Stiffness and neck pain are very common problems that occur at all ages. They can be a consequence of muscle contraction, and make it more difficult to move and create an unpleasant feel!

“Regular” neck stiffness
The bolus is about muscle contraction, caused by a sudden movement, usually in the wrong position when sleeping or leaking. It can be associated with arthrosis or hernias. There is a strong pain and difficulty in moving, and often, immobility. Pain is born and disappears suddenly.

CURE
It is treated with anti-pain and anti-spasms, and it’s usually enough for a few days. A fairly good effect, with minimal side effects, is paracetamol, which should be taken at the earliest symptoms. However, before using, read your doctor’s instructions carefully, and talk to your doctor or pharmacist about the risks and side effects.

Miogens neck stiffness
The result of a rather shorter muscle on the side of the neck. The cause may be myositis, that is, the inflammation of the muscle in the embryonic stage or the hematoma it has occurred during delivery. It often resists itself without consequences, but sometimes fibrous scars remain, causing muscle shortening. The symptoms of myogeneous neck stiffness are recognizable at first glance: neck is distorted, pain is present, and movements are difficult. The disease is diagnosed by ultrasound scan.

CURE
It is treated with a surgical procedure, which consists of cutting the short muscle so that it again gains its normal length.

Sometimes massage can also be helpful. If there is no pain for a week, it is best to consult a specialist.

Arthrosis of the back
Arthrosis is a degenerative joint disease resulting from degenerative changes in joint cartilage. As a result of damage (degeneration) of the joint cartilage, changes in the shape of the joints of the joints (cups and caps) occur, possibly with the formation of bone thorns and the consequent inflammation of the soft tissues in the immediate vicinity of the joint.

Disease occurs almost always in people over fifty, but it can happen earlier. Degenerative diseases have a chronic course, can be trigerated with some initial trauma, but this is not a direct cause.

Symptoms that occur are dizziness, headache and neck stiffness. An accurate diagnosis can be made by ultrasound scan.

CURE
The most effective treatment is gymnastics (rounded neck movements). In the acute stage of the disease, pain medications and muscle relaxation can be taken. There are also anti-arthropod medicines that work on the cartilage of the joints and help stop the disease.

Hernian disc
The hernia comes when the elastic and resistant structure, which acts as a “pad” between the two vertebrae, deforms, moves from the site and presses the root of the nerves out of the spinal cord. This pressure causes strong pain in the neck and arms.

CURE
It is affected by rehabilitation exercises, anti-inflammatory drugs, and in the case of a hernia, it may be necessary to immobilize the door with a special rigid orthopedic collar. If the pain does not stop, a surgical procedure is required.

Cysts on the neck
The cysts on the neck have been present since birth and are the result of changes in the development of structures in the embryonic stage. Small bags can be left empty for a lifetime, or they can be transformed into real cysts filled with liquid. They are most often located at the side of the door. In the event of an illness, they start to create problems. Inflammation can occur at any time of life. The swelling and strong pain occur, and there is also the formation of a small hole from which the fluid flows. The greatest danger is an infection.

CURE
Inflammatory cysts are treated with antibiotics, and the problem can only be solved by surgical intervention.

Lymph nodes swelling
It is an acute inflammation of the lymph nodes that may be due to interference in the throat, mouth, ear. One or more knotted nodes on the side of the neck are occurring. Pain is limited but sometimes strong. Swelling can take much longer than the disease that caused it. Diagnosis is made by the doctor after careful examination and palpation of the painful part.

Did you have an enlarged lymph node? It’s important to find the cause!

CURE
It is cured with anti-inflammatory drugs, and in more serious cases with antibiotics
